CLE RULE CHANGES EFFECTIVE FEBRUARY 1,
2010
NOTE: Effective 7/1/2010 there will be a $10 fee for filing
paper affidavits of attendance. There is no charge if you report your CLE
attendance online through OASIS.
Other Important Fee Changes (effective
2/1/2010):
Rule 9D: Late filing fee now
$75 was $50
Rule 9E: Notice of
non-compliance fee now $200 was $100
Rule 12D(1): Fee to request transfer
from voluntary restricted status $125 -- no change
Rule 12E: Fee to request
transfer from involuntary restricted status now
$250 was $125
CLE REQUIREMENTS: The CLE
Rules require that each lawyer holding an active license complete a minimum of
45 credit hours, including at least 3 ethics credit hours and 2 elimination of
bias credit hours, every 3 years.
The filing deadline for Category 2 attorneys
reporting CLE compliance in
2010 is August 31,
2010. The Rules do not require that you report your compliance
by June 30, 2010 (the last day of the reporting period.) If you have not
met your CLE requirements by June
30, 2010, you may complete them between July 1, 2010 and August 31, 2010 without
requesting a formal extension from the Board. You must enter your courses
through OASIS or submit your Affidavit of CLE
Compliance by August 31, 2010, or you will be subject to a $75
late filing fee. If you have additional questions on the filing deadline,
please refer to Rule 9.
Confirmation: Please DO NOT CALL the CLE office for
confirmation that your affidavit or course attendance information was received.
This office will send a confirmation postcard or letter to you within 90 days of
our receipt of your attendance information. However, please note that
the confirmation postcard will not be processed until after June 30 of the year
you are due to report.
